First elected as a Member of Parliament in October 1993, in the riding of Outremont, Quebec, he subsequently held numerous positions in the federal government. He was Secretary of State (Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec), Minister of National Revenue, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. She is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, awarded for her contribution to the advancement of women in business. She has over 35 years of legal experience, primarily in the area of corporate, commercial and securities law. Since 2017, she has been involved in the foundations and businesses of Guy Lalibert\u00e9 and was President and CEO of Lune Rouge Inc.
